Every month we have a new creative activity on Saba in the ART STUDIO at Juliana's hotel.

Beach Bounty

Walking along the beach, even though our Saban ”beaches” are not white but black, we are always looking for treasures of the sea.

Did you find some nice shells that you would love to paint? This is your chance.

How are we going to do that? It is not really complicated . We just draw or trace them. After that we use transparent non staining watercolors and after that transparent staining watercolors. Easy as falling of a rock.

You still have time for some beach hunting. Here are some pictures of what we tried out. To be continued. We are now trying the biggies.

MONET and the GOLDEN LILY POND.

Acrylic on canvas and gold leaf:

I will show you a clip of the pond in Giverny where Monet lived. So you will get the right impression.
You will get a drawing to work from, so it is not that hard, and about the same colours Monet used,( just eight). And you will get loads of shiny gold leaf. So precious!
Be amazed of what you will be making. We tried it out, and it worked! See the results. I am sure you can do it too.
